Pike Lake Summer Day Camps

The Pike Lake Summer Day Camp is for children and youth ages 6 to 12 years old. Our Day Camps are designed to give kids an opportunity to get out of the city and to experience the joy of spending time in the outdoors. Our Pike Lake Summer Day Camp is designed to give the kids an opportunity to learn about the environment and to participate in a variety of activities not normally available in the city. They hike the nature trail available at the park; they play a number of wide games such as capture the flag and the survival game, an environmental awareness game. The campers spend time on the waterfront when weather permits making sand castles & go swimming in the pool twice during the week, sometimes they're able to mini golf. Camp is often themed; for example, one year the Amazing Race was adapted to suit both children and the setting at Pike Lake. The kids participating at our Pike Lake Summer Day Camps are also taught baseball skills during the week, with the week ending in a baseball game.

Summer in the City Day Camps (East, West & Arlington)

The Summer in the City Day Camps are for elementary school aged children; they are not separated into different age groupings. Parents can register their children for a week at a time and our camps are open from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. While at camp our kids are given the opportunity to explore areas of Saskatoon and events in Saskatoon that they may not normally be able to. The activities in the week long camps are built around themes such as Rider Pride, Pirate or Super-hero weeks - each year brings a new, fun theme! The kids are treated to field trips in the city that may include trips to the local swimming pool, city spray parks, the community gardens or the Forestry Farm, each year is different:) Sometimes special guests visit our camps; last year, a magician made a special appearance. Festivals that come to our city such as The Fringe are attended if possible & weather permitting.

The Summer in the City Day Camp East is held at St. Joseph's Parish Hall on the corner of 8th Street & Broadway, the Summer in the City West is held at Hampton Free Methodist Church at 2930 McClocklin Road, and at Nutana Curling Club at 2002 Arlington Ave.
