Early Learning Centres

Our Early Learning Centres exist to provide safe, secure childcare with meaningful, age appropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks until their first day of Grade 1. Our John Lake ELC is licensed for the care of 51 children, and our Evergreen ELC is licensed for the care of 90 children.

We believe in fostering the growth of the whole child – emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually. The Early Learning Centres programming encourages children to explore the world around them in a fun, safe and stimulating environment and to become independent learners. We have created a daily schedule where all children regardless of age, have opportunities to play in learning centres, participate in arts & crafts, literacy, science & nature, gross motor, cooperative play and other sensory stimulation activities that have been designed to be developmentally appropriate for all. The children also get to participate in field trips periodically.

Our John Lake and Evergreen ELCs each have a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC plays a supportive role in assisting our ELC staff with the development of required policies & procedures. The PAC is involved in fundraising for the Centre and in volunteering in projects that are happening at the ELC. If you are interested in volunteering to be a part of the PAC, please call our John Lake ELC Manager at 306-665-0307, or our Evergreen ELC Business Administrator at 306-373-3111 for more information.
